Online Exhibition——–“The whole incompletness of the whole” by Rapheal Domenech

Rapeal Domenech was born in Wahana, Cuba in 1989. He grew up and receive education in the socialist system. His interest in space and public propaganda natrually laid the foundation for his early work. After immigrating to the US, he had undergone a process of transformation. In his view, “architecture is the medium. As long as there is a willingness to think about the present, there will never be so-called necessity.”
I found many similarities from Domenech’s work. He likes to put his focus point on forgotten part of the city, the edge culture of the city, like scrapyard, deserted factories. And he is so passionate at instilling his inspiration and imagination in to daily objects which are abandoned or ignored, for example, old wire, used eggcase, plasyic bags, cardboard box, cement debris.
In this exhibition, he continues to expand the concept of architecture by converting architecture into language installations, experimental publications, and functional exploration.
